AKIRA's one of those movies that need an entire sequel just to explain what happened in the first. |

In my experience, Anime sequals creat more questions than they answer. |

Generally I agree with ya OG
AKIRA however... requires no explanation IMO. It was genious it its creation... truly a marvel both in comic and in film, and both the dub and the sub created a par for anime that has yet to be surpassed. Quality-wise it was fantastic using a high animation rate (especially for the time) and it used VERY few recycled back-drops and frames... it was fantastic
Story-wise... I think, to someone who never read the manga... it would make little sense... However... to read the comics THEN watch the film was a real treat for me, as they accompanied each other perfectly
That is just my opinion of course... |

But didn't you say last year that the comic explains nothing? |

It really doesn't... but then I never stated above that the comic explained anything... I just said they complimented each other nicely. *lol*
And the comic just goes more in depth... and if you need out and out explainations for everything... *laughs* AKIRA's probably not for you. You FEEL AKIRA, you don't "understand" it. Its like any good piece of art-work... all in the interpretation |

Abstract art is made by the inept, sold by the unpricipled to the totally bewildered. |

Its more impressionist actually... t'were it abstract... you might understand it... AKIRA's beauty is in its complexity. |
